Small Business Winners Crowned! Local Companies Earn Honors 05/19/2006
The Chamber’s ninth annual Small Business of the Year Awards on Friday, May 19, recognized the outstanding contributions that 38 local companies have made to the business community. In front of a crowd of more than 500 business people and civic leaders at the Wyndham Lisle/Naperville, five local companies earned top honors in the annual competition.

My Chef Catering earned overall Small Business of the Year honors, as well as the Outstanding Business in the Service: Business to Business category. Inside-Out Painting Company won the Service: Business to Consumer category, Klein, Hall & Associates, LLC was the winner in the Professional category, and Café Buonaro’s won the Retail category. NCO Youth & Family Services earned the 2006 Not-for-Profit of the year for their contributions to our community.
The Blue Ribbon Committee judged all of the nominees on their business growth in sales and in number of employees from 2002 to 2006; unique or innovative approaches toward customers, employees, or the community; accomplishments; and community involvement.
"The quality of nominees and the competition for these awards get better and better each year," said Chamber President and CEO Mike Skarr. "Our business community in general, our community as a whole and our Chamber are strengthened by the outstanding work that all of our nominees do."
